Karnak Temple

The great Temple of Karnak is mostly a New Kingdom complex with many additions by later pharaohs and the central temple is dedicated to the state god, Amun. It is oriented so that it is lit by the light of the setting sun at solstice.

One scholar suggests that the constant dismantling and reconstruction of the various temples, reflects the astronomic shifts. One example of this is the dismantling of the Temple of Montu (bull) at the end of the Age of Taurus and the Temple of Amun (ram) coincides with the beginning of the Age of Aries.

Within Karnak Temple we can meet the Goddess Sekhmet

Sekhmet, the goddess of transformation, resides in Karnak Temple in a small chapel dedicated to herself, her consort Ptah and their son, Nefertem. She is represented as a woman with the head of a lion, symbolising her position as a goddess of war and destruction, whilst at the same time showing that she is of the feminine. She was known for her slaughter of humans during a time of chaos, but shows her feminine side with compassion and the fierce protection that motherhood brings.

She is a compassionate healer, although her courage and power are immense. She hunts down the thought forms behind disease and then restores balance. Her message is that power does not always wear a smile, and sometimes you may be forced to destroy that which is no longer serving you for your highest and greatest good.

Osiris Chapel

This small chapel hidden away within the amazing Karnak Temple complex is actually dedicated to the Divine Adoratrice and has a unique relief of 7 doorways within each other. It is a powerful energy source and is known to be a portal to other dimensions or a spiritual vortex. Come with us and allow us to show you how to pass through this doorway. It is your choice to pass through and see what the doorway holds for you.

Valley of the Kings and the West Bank Mortuary Temples

The West Bank of Luxor is known as the city of dead. It is the funerary complex of the ancient Egyptians. Here you have the opportunity to let go of anything that has died and no longer serves you using the power of the god Anubis, jackal headed god of the underworld. Explore the cycles of birth, death and rebirth which are rooted in Ancient Egyptian mythology.

Valley of the Kings

The Valley of the Kings is the final resting place of the Pharoahs of the New Kingdom. It is within a deep wadi, overlooked and protected by the pyramid shaped mountain known as the Qurn. Here the Pharoahs were buried in spectacular tombs, following the lengthy mummification process. The walls of the tombs show us their belief in the afterlife, and the procedures and rituals they needed to follow to be able to enter the afterlife and live forever as a god.

Medinet Habu

Medinet Habu is the mortuary Temple of Ramses 111 and its site was sacred long before he used it for his temple. It is still, to this day, regarded as having magical powers by the local Egyptians and local women still come to the Sacred Lake here to bathe at night and pray to the Goddess Isis for fertility.

Within the walls of Medinet Habu is a small temple which is built on the legendary site of the primeval mound, which rose from the waters of Chaos, producing the creator god Re-Atum.

Mortuary Temple of Seti 1

The Mortuary Temple of Seti 1 is a very quiet temple with fabulous reliefs depicting the Ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses and the belief in the afterlife.

Luxor Temple

Luxor Temple is associated with stellar consciousness, that aspect of us that is a star. Awaken the parts of you that are sleeping and turn on your inner light. It is primarily dedicated to the great god Amun and there is a theory that the temple itself is built to symbolically represent the human body and the use of dowsers has shown there to be energy “hot spots” which coincide with the position of the chakras. This gives it its name as the Temple of Man, reflecting that the human body is a temple of the soul.

Luxor temple is unique in that it includes many of the major world religions within its walls. The mosque of Abu Haggag is highly visible atop the temple itself, in one of the inner sanctums you can see a small chapel that the Romans used and where local Christians could renounce their own faith and embrace the pagan state religion of Rome. And of course, there is the overwhelming presence of the Ancient Egyptian gods.
